In the publication there are presented most popular passive methods of continuous insulation monitoring in live low voltage unearthed AC networks. There are given formulas for determination of insulation equivalent resistance for multi-phase networks sources with both symmetrical and asymmetrical voltages. Novel solution of elimination of the most popular measuring scheme’s shortcomings is proposed. New methods of insulation resistance measurement and earth fault location based on supervision
