This paper attempts to assess the feasibility of estimating the throwing force generated by the RADES-1 point machine throwing bar based on the active power drawn from the interlocking. As part of the experiment, a test system was constructed to simulate the interlocking -point machine - turnout on a test stand. The stand was composed of a turnout Rz500, RADES-1 point machine, and MOR-3 interlocking with current measurement module. Based on the obtained results, numerical model was determined showing the relationship between the throwing force and the active power consumed by the point machine. The obtained relationships are closely related to the design of the point machine and require further research to expand the mathematical model to include untested areas of operation.
