It discusses crucial macroeconomic theories concerning the problem of saving. The article also includes an analysis, based upon the Author?s own studies, of the dynamics and principal directions of changes taking place in the structure of consumption as well as of the most significant motives for saving in households which include unemployed members in the Mazovia region.
